Heat the water to 200° Fahrenheit, or about 30 seconds off boil.
Place the filter into the cap and wet the filter if using a paper one. Set aside.
Grind the coffee at a medium setting - about what you would use for drip coffee.
Flip the AeroPress over with the plunger pulled out to line 4 and the chamber facing upward. Place on scale.
Add 30 grams of ground coffee into the AeroPress chamber and tare the scale.
Add 105 grams of water to the chamber and stir 25 times. Let sit for a total of 60 seconds.
Attach the cap and flip the AeroPress over onto the coffee mug. Press the plunger down slowly until all the coffee is extracted.
Place the cup on the scale and add 125 grams of water, adjusting to taste.
